Excerpt: Laser use in medicine can be as comprehensive and complex as you want it to be--from mitochondria to chromophores--or as straightforward as you need it to be.
I compiled and organized this important information because I am in the unique position of having worked for 3 of the best class IV therapy laser companies, and I thought it was time to ease some of the confusion and delusion brought about the marketplace. No proprietary secrets are revealed here, only public information and knowledge. Although there are many similarities, let me also point out that there are many distinctions that need to be made. You may or may not currently be in the market for a Class IV, but let me assure you that this is one of the best selling pieces of capital equipment today. See Rule # 1.

Over the years, when speaking with clinicians at their practices or at trade shows, I would hear statements like, “My therapy laser is great… I love it”, regardless of which laser they bought. I used to think those evaluations as very subjective, not objective. But as I advanced in the field I realized that all lasers really do work. Anyway, most clinicians will stand behind their buying decisions.

For us in the therapy laser profession, we understand that this is just the beginning, and at some point this modality will be in the majority of clinics, human and animal, available for patients seeking to quickly ease their pain. Let’s face it… this new therapy works and it makes the patient feel good in the process. We have learned that most patients will do just about anything to be relieved of pain, acute or chronic, regardless of this economic downturn. We will also cover some of the drawbacks to this type of therapy, primarily in regards to insurance reimbursement and medical billing.

Unfortunately, there are a couple misconceptions about the therapy laser. From Doctors to Reps, sometimes the desire to “sell” and promote their product can cause myths and fabrications in a competitive setting. Also, we hear things from industry pros that might not represent the entire truth. Well, I plan to uncover and explain away some of these “myths” so you have an unbiased, neutral position without spin. I will point out what we know to be true and won't shy away from problem areas.

Case studies, abstracts, peer reviewed published articles, white papers, and science: there are far too many to list here, but you can visit each laser website where you will be able to request some. I have included a white paper, a few clinical studies, and abstracts. This is merely the condensed version.
